Against the backdrop of a war between humans and robots with artificial intelligence, a former soldier finds the secret weapon, a robot in the form of a young child.

The Creator is a 2023 American science fiction film produced and directed by Gareth Edwards, who co-wrote the screenplay with Chris Weitz. The film stars John David Washington, Gemma Chan, Ken Watanabe, Sturgill Simpson, and Allison Janney.

The plot is set in 2070, 15 years after a nuclear detonation in Los Angeles and a war against artificial intelligence. An ex-special forces agent, Joshua (played by John David Washington), is grieving the disappearance of his wife, Maya (played by Gemma Chan). Joshua is recruited to hunt down and kill the “Creator,” who has developed a mysterious weapon with the power to end the war.

The film follows Joshua as he embarks on a mission to destroy Alpha-01, a synthetic being developed by the artificial intelligence “Nirmata,” in order to find his presumed dead wife, Maya.

Nearly a million people incinerated, in the blink of an eye by the artificial intelligence created to protect us.

We banned A.I. in the Western World, so this will never happen again.

Yet the republics of New Asia do not share our concern, and continue to develop A.I… embracing them as equals.

Now, make no mistake.

We’re not at war with the people of New Asia.

But the A.I. they harbor…

This is a fight for our very existence.

For as long as A.I. is a threat, we will never stop hunting them.

As US forces widen their search across New Asia, Nirmata has evaded capture…
