The Expanse – S05E09 – Winnipesaukee – Transcript

Amos, Clarissa, and a gang of thieves work together to leave Earth. Avasarala tries to head off a brutal military strike. Drummer's new family bonds are tested as Naomi's life hangs in the balance.
The Expanse - S05E09 - Winnipesaukee

Aired on January 27, 2021

Naomi continues trying to contract her crew. Alex and Bobbie hear the changed message and begin to put together what is happening. On Earth, Amos and Clarissa’s group reaches Lake Winnipesaukee and enters one of the houses to look for the suborbital shuttle. They encounter winter staff members living there that are cut off from the rest of the world. Soon, more staff from other houses arrive and Clarissa tells them they will take them to Luna if they are able to get it to work. On Luna, Avasarala learns of that the UN has attacked Pallas Station. During a cabinet meeting she learns there are further attacks planned on predominantly civillian targets and resigns in protest along with several other cabinet members. Avasarala is then informed that there will be a vote of no confidence and is asked if she will accept the nomination for Secretary General in the upcoming snap election and she accepts. Marco Inaros sends Drummer a message ordering her to destroy the Roci and this makes Drummer suspicious as to why he has suddenly changed his plan. She later learns that Naomi is still alive. Marco also talks with his son and tells him that his mother is still alive, using the information to manipulate him into believing she abandoned him again. On Earth, the group is approached by private security for the island and they attempt to take all the food in the house which prompts an armed stand-off. Clarissa convinces the group to let the security guards leave alive despite protests from others. After they leave Amos and Erich tell her that they will be back to finish the job. That night Amos manages to fix the ship just as the group are ambushed. There is a large firefight and most of Erich’s people are killed but the shuttle is able to take off and head towards Luna.
