Mark embarks on a new and dangerous mission, throwing Debbie into a tailspin and Eve into uncertainty.
Invincible - S04E05 - Give Us a Moment

Invincible
Season 4 – Episode 5
Episode title: Give Us a Moment
Original release date: April 1, 2026

Episode plot: Allen and Nolan discuss the situation with Mark and Eve, and Mark reluctantly agrees to join the Coalition’s war against the Viltrumites. A remorseful Nolan also apologizes to Debbie, who rejects him. Allen tracks down Zoe Thompson / Tech Jacket, who also agrees to join their cause, while Oliver insists on going as well. After saying goodbye to Eve, Debbie and Paul, Mark and Oliver join Nolan, Allen, and Zoe aboard their ship, and the team departs for Talescria. On their way there, however, their vessel is ambushed by a Viltrumite cruiser commanded by Conquest and two other Viltrumites, Lucan and Kradd. A chaotic battle ensues, culminating in a one-on-one fight between Mark and Conquest. Mark is disemboweled by Conquest, but finally manages to kill him by strangling and asphyxiating him. Nolan and Oliver find a badly wounded Mark, while Zoe and Allen hide on the hull of the Viltrumite ship as Lucan and Kradd continue searching for them. Thaedus decides that it is time for open war with the Viltrumites.

[Allen] Come on, look at him. Isn’t he the most handsome little dude you’ve ever seen? Look at this guy.

He’s pretty cute.

This is him as a kitten.

Oh, here he is playing with his favorite toy. Want to see a video?

I’m– Does he have two buttholes?

Oh, yeah, he’s full-grown.

Huh.

[sighs]

[Eve] I wonder how it’s going.

That is a very good question.

Has Nolan really changed?

He saved my life. I mean, I saved his first, but you know, who’s keeping track? I guess I am, if I’m being honest. Either way, he’s going to war against his own people, so that’s gotta mean something.

A war you want Mark to join.

Yeah. I know, it’s a big ask, but there is no way we’re gonna be able to pull this off without–

[ominous music playing]

So you originally came to Earth to see if you could breed with us? [chuckles] Jesus, Dad.

We were desperate. With only 50 of us left, we had no choice. I can see now how it could be considered wrong, but something good did come out of it. You.

That doesn’t mean I’ll help.

Mark, the Viltrumites will always be a threat to Earth, even more so now. But with you, and everything Allen and I have gathered from my books, we can stop them. The entire Coalition of Planets is behind us.

After they took you away on Thraxa, I thought you were dead.

I wanted to die. And it almost happened.

But Allen convinced me it wasn’t too late to make things right.

So many people did die, Dad. Not just here, but on Thraxa as well. You lied to me. You lied to Mom. You didn’t even think about what could happen to Oliver.

I know, and I promise I’ll spend the rest of my life trying to make it up to you and everyone else. That’s what I’m doing now. That’s why I’m here.

How do I know you’re telling the truth?

You’ll have to trust me.

[Mark scoffs] Great.

No tricks this time. We need your help, but if the answer is no, I understand.

Except I still don’t have a choice, do I? If the Coalition loses, how long until the Viltrumites show up here again?

I don’t know exactly, but… not long.

[quiet, dramatic music playing]

[sighs] When do we leave?

It’s a two-week trip to Talescria, so as soon as possible.

Tomorrow morning, okay? I have stuff to do first.

Of course. Mark? One more thing.

I gotta give it to you. You have balls. I would not do this.

Don’t you have somewhere to be, Allen?

Yeah. I mean, we need to find Tech Jacket and ask them to join the cause.

So go do it.

Ah, geez, Earth Nolan is touchy.

This is a bad idea.

Maybe. But I have to do it anyway.

It took Mom a long time to recover from what you did.

I owe her an apology. She deserves that.

Yeah, you do. And yeah, she does. But who’s the apology for? Her or yourself? Think about that.

We should go.

[quiet, somber music playing]

Mark said coming to see you was selfish. And I think he was right. Do you want me to go? [breathes deeply] Okay. I did the unspeakable to you and Mark. And then I did it again on Thraxa, leaving you and him and Oliver to pick up the pieces. Words can’t make up for something like that. But… when Mark first got his powers, I was terrified because I knew it meant everything would change. My life with you would change. And I didn’t want that to happen. But I had a mission to fulfill, a duty to the Viltrum empire. And it should have been easy. Except… I wasn’t really a Viltrumite anymore. I’m almost a thousand years old, but 20 years with you, 20 years with you made me human. I know forgiveness is earned, not asked for, so I’m not asking for it. But, Debbie, I am sorry. I am sorry for the pain, the tears, the anger, the sorrow that I put you through. I am sorry for what I did to Mark, for what I did to everyone in Chicago. The Guardians, all the Thraxans. For abandoning Oliver. I am sorry for all of it, and I regret every moment. And I promise you, and Mark and Oliver, that I will spend the rest of my life trying to repair the damage I did.

[Debbie] Repair the damage. [laughs] You still think you can do anything, don’t you? Fix all your problems with your… superpowers. This can’t be fixed, Nolan. There’s no way back from where you are. You murdered people. You extinguished families. You spread misery to the people who loved you most. How many people can’t sleep at night, because every time they close their eyes, they see you? I know what that feels like because I’m one of them. And now, and now, you show up here, with some bullshit apology, about to take my son to a war a million miles away where he could die, and you think you can repair this? What do you want, Nolan?

I… I wanted to say that I was sorry.

[Debbie] You said that. You’re still here.

Debbie, I… I had to see you again.

[Debbie] Fuck you. Two months after you left, you had Oliver with Andressa.

Andressa was-was a mistake. I didn’t know what I was doing. I love you. Not her.

[Debbie] [scoffs] Do you realize how you sound? You think that telling me you didn’t love Oliver’s mother is supposed to make me feel better? It just makes me hate you more.

I miss you.

[Debbie] You miss me? You miss me? You know what? I missed you! But you killed the man I loved. You… killed… him!

[bones crunch]

[Debbie shouts]

Debbie…

[Debbie] [screams] I loved you. We had everything. And now it’s all gone.

Debbie, stop. Let me see it.

[Debbie] No.

Just let me–

[Debbie] Am I still your pet?

You never were.

[Debbie] If I was supposed to change you, I failed. You’re not one of us. You’re not human. You’re barely a bad photocopy. You got to say what you wanted to say. Now get the fuck out of my house and never come back.
