Putin and the Seven Dwarfs

Putin’s missile response highlights NATO’s missteps. Diplomacy, not provocation, is key to avoiding escalation and rebuilding peace with Russia.

Putin’s response to long-range missile provocations demonstrates the dangers of NATO’s reckless strategies and the precarious balance of power in Europe. The conflict, driven by manipulation and selfish interests, highlights the need for mature diplomacy, a retreat from escalation, and a return to political negotiation. Europe’s future peace and stability depend on re-establishing strategic ties with Russia and avoiding the self-destructive madness of prolonged conflict.

Putin had warned against the use of long-range missiles, threatening to respond accordingly. Biden and his seven European dwarfs ignored the warning, and now they blame Putin for the escalation. This tactic—provoking others and then blaming them for their reaction—is manipulation. As soon as he got the green light, Zelensky began firing uncontrollably into Russian territory. In response, Putin launched a devastating experimental ballistic missile, capable of hitting any European city in seconds, carrying nuclear warheads, and eluding interception. We’re all under threat, defenseless.

This is yet another strategic masterpiece by NATO, which, after decades of aimless wars across the globe, has now brought conflict—and the nuclear threat—closer to home. Following the successful missile test, Putin ordered mass production of the new weapon and revealed he has more devastating surprises in store. The silence of Biden and his European dwarfs stems from fear. They’ve realized Putin is no bluffer; for him, the war in Ukraine is part of a Western assault on Russia. Given that his country’s survival is at stake, he’s willing to go to any lengths. These concerns, long brewing in Moscow, have reignited since NATO’s reckless expansion—even into Ukraine.

But manipulation also dominates the war’s narrative. The dwarfs blame Putin for unprovoked aggression instead of acknowledging the Cold War hawks in Washington, who cling to their grip on Europe and dream of a subdued Moscow. This is a stark example of selfishness being the only ideology left standing. Silence from Biden and the dwarfs also reflects the brutal logic of conflict: the one with the bigger punch calls the shots. Russia’s super missile has reshuffled the balance of power, offering no hope to Ukraine and threatening everyone else.

An escalation could lead to a terrifying, potentially nuclear war that nobody truly wants. The challenge is how to de-escalate. To avoid barroom brawls, every loudmouth needs a way to retreat with dignity. Putin is no Snow White but rather a grizzled Siberian wolf—this has been clear since the days of Boris Yeltsin. As long as he’s in the Kremlin, NATO should stop playing Risk and make room for real diplomacy.

Here’s the rub: Biden’s mind left the White House months ago, and his frail body will soon follow, likely replaced by a New York real estate tycoon consumed by petty disputes and promising yet another retreat from the steppes. This could be a golden opportunity to extract ourselves from the Ukrainian quagmire—but only if the European dwarfs rise to the occasion.

They must cast off their blinders and uniforms, abandon their power-driven recklessness, and return to their actual job: politics—thinking, negotiating, and acting. They must confront the grim reality in Ukraine, avoid fueling Zelensky’s defiance, and encourage him to hand over the reins of peace negotiations. Regarding Donbas and other territories occupied by Putin, Europe should lead by example, recalling the absurdity of past conflicts.

Millions of European youths died in two world wars to defend borders that now mean nothing. The same will happen in Ukraine when hatred gives way to reason, and Russia becomes an ally again. It will happen everywhere when those who are spreading bloodshed finally mature. War is the ultimate expression of selfish ideology—a senseless, self-destructive madness.

We must rebuild a strategic alliance with Russia, vital for continental economic stability and lasting peace. This is Europe’s true and most admirable achievement.
