So now we’re supposed to be surprised that Putin was serious about keeping NATO’s war machine away from Moscow? After years of NATO creeping closer to Russia’s borders—ignoring every warning and shoving “defensive” weapons in Ukraine’s hands—we’re supposed to act shocked when Moscow doesn’t just roll over? Congratulations, NATO geniuses, you’ve successfully provoked the very conflict you claim to be preventing, all while pushing us toward a catastrophic nuclear standoff. And to those clueless EU leaders following Washington’s orders—enjoy the fallout, because this reckless march to Russia’s doorstep is a disaster in the making.

I remember battalions of “intellectuals” with helmets mocking Putin and anyone trying to think rationally and realistically when the President of the Russian Federation said that the special operation, as they call it in the Kremlin, was intended to keep the enemy away from Moscow.
This is not an issue that arose two years ago, but one that has roots in a series of warnings that date back to the early 2000s and an expansion that has been ongoing since the 1990s. Russia has repeatedly pointed out the increasingly close proximity of NATO to Moscow, something they consider dangerous, and with good reason. Looking at how far the most warmongering alliance ever created has pushed towards Moscow, one has to admit that they had every reason to be concerned. Right now, there are NATO weapons and, very likely, military personnel within about 500 kilometers of the Kremlin. To put that in perspective, it’s less than the distance from Trieste to Turin.
I wonder how it’s possible not to see or not want to see what NATO is doing against Russia, and I also wonder: how was Russia supposed to respond to all this when every attempt at dialogue on this issue has been consistently rejected by NATO? If Russia or China had done the same—bringing weapons and troops under false pretenses to Mexico (after installing a puppet president through a coup), just a few hundred kilometers from major U.S. cities—how would the United States have reacted?
What the Ukrainian army has done in recent weeks is, I believe, the gravest, most provocative, and dangerous action ever taken against Russia. As has been reported daily and confirmed by Biden, who says he is constantly updated on the invasion of Russian territory, this action was planned and executed with NATO’s approval. I said it from the start, and I’ll say it again: NATO has officially invaded Russia. This is clear proof that, from the very beginning, this has never been a defensive war for Ukraine but rather an offensive war by NATO.
It started with defensive weapons, then short-range missiles, followed by long-range ones. Then came the debate over tanks (the famous month-long story of the German tanks that were eventually sent), then the green light to strike Russia with NATO weapons, then the F-16s, and finally, while some were talking about sending NATO troops, the Ukrainian army, remotely controlled by Washington, launched a suicidal maneuver that brought NATO into Russian territory, right on Moscow’s doorstep. If, in February 2022, it had been told to the public that the goal was to reach Russian soil, many people would likely have been scared. But they did it gradually to soften a pill that risks being extremely bitter.
In World War II, Stalin signed a non-aggression pact with Hitler because he feared an invasion. In the end, that pact became worthless, and Russia was caught off guard. But it won! In the 1990s, Western neo-Nazis promised Gorbachev that NATO would not expand eastward. That promise was also broken, but with one key difference: in Russia, history taught lessons, whereas in the West, it did not. Moscow prepared itself for Western advances with over 6,000 nuclear warheads and put its guard up to avoid being caught off guard again, while the West continues to act like Hitler, advancing towards Moscow, not realizing that this time, it won’t be just one side that is defeated, but all involved.
Leave Russia in peace and go back home. Especially those idiots who govern the European Union. We have everything to lose with a hostile Russia and everything to gain with such a power as our friend on our borders. Exactly the opposite of what those criminals in the United States want!
