Israel, Kamala, and the War on Truth

Netanyahu's actions are part of a broader conflict involving complicity and suppression of truth by Western powers. The truth will eventually resurface despite these efforts.

Tommaso Merlo paints a stark picture of Netanyahu’s aggressive policies and the Israeli government’s complicity in human rights abuses, highlighting the Western world’s hypocrisy and the suppression of truth in the conflict. He critiques the role of international players, particularly the U.S., in perpetuating these injustices, suggesting that the truth, no matter how suppressed, will eventually emerge.

Netanyahu is holed up in a bunker of reinforced concrete and Zionist delusions. For months now, he has been doing everything possible to provoke a regional war, but so far, nothing from Iran and Lebanon. It’s a psychological war, a move to buy time for last-minute negotiations and to show the world who the real bloodthirsty force in the Middle East is.

Meanwhile, in the open air, Israeli minister Ben Gvir took another stroll around the Temple Mount, marking territory and reiterating his cultural sensitivity. His colleague, Minister Smotrich, recently made headlines by suggesting that starving two million Palestinians in Gaza would be justified. Truly ministers worthy of their prime minister, with the historical merit of showing the world what Zionism really is.

In Israel’s model democracy, there is debate over the gang rape of Palestinian hostages, with many believing that as a deterrent, they have the right to do as they please, and woe to anyone who dares to tarnish the most moral army in the world. Meanwhile, it’s revealed that Palestinian hostages are also being used as human shields in Gaza’s tunnels and as living mine detectors sent out on leashes. Quite something for a Western-level democracy fighting a war of civilization on our behalf. Laughable if it weren’t so tragic, and they even have the audacity to quote the Bible.

The lawyers at the UN courts have so much evidence of their war crimes that they’re getting bogged down, and it remains to be seen whether the West will manage to cover everything up. Israel and its Western accomplices have always waged a war against the truth. If the Zionist colonial project were clean and legitimate and hadn’t committed crimes and violence, there would be no need to corrupt the press and politics around the world to impose their version of history. They would accept the truth and other opinions. But instead, we’ve reached the point where leading politicians and journalists can’t even criticize Israeli Zionist delusions. As if Israel has even deprived us of the democratic freedom to dissent and discuss. This will be studied in school textbooks.

Meanwhile, diplomats are working on a last-ditch attempt. Iran and Lebanon want an end to the genocide in Gaza, but Netanyahu is aiming for total victory, along with a free hand to complete the annexation of Palestine, even at the cost of escalation. What makes the scenario uncertain is that Israel is imploding socially and economically, while its enemies are in no hurry and will have to decide whether to let the provocations of recent months go unpunished. The ball is in Netanyahu’s bunker and his enlightened ministers.

Meanwhile, the Americans and their lapdogs are already deployed in the Mediterranean, waiting for orders. For them, too, the war against the truth is crucial. They pose as champions of human rights, and after decades of wars disguised as peace missions, they have even become complicit in a genocide, thanks to their democracies turned into lobbying bazaars. It’s truly a messy quagmire, and Kamala Harris knows it well.

Many Americans have no intention of getting their hands dirty with blood; the most Zionist president ever might be completely out of it, but he’s still in office, and his vice president Harris can’t play dumb. If Netanyahu is a war criminal, those who armed and funded him during the ongoing genocide are his accomplices. As for Kamala, it’s hard to pose as a fresh face and a champion of change when, in the face of one of the most horrific chapters in recent history, she keeps repeating the clichés favored by the pro-Israel lobby. A ceasefire would be convenient for her political career, which is why she’s pushing for it—not for the children of Gaza.

Meanwhile, in Washington, the pro-Israel lobby is working hard behind the scenes and has already managed to cause a couple of Democratic primary losses for candidates they didn’t like; if Harris falters, they’ll switch to the Republican bandwagon. Nothing easier with old Trump—just wave some green bills under his nose, and he’ll even become a rabbi. A truly exhausting war against the truth, fought in the corridors of power and Western newsrooms, as well as in the Palestinian hills. Pain, destruction, and rampant hypocrisy. Many possible scenarios and only one certainty: sooner or later, the truth always finds a way to resurface. Always.
