Another night of bombings in Gaza amid the silence of Western media. Dozens of innocent civilian victims, including a young pregnant woman, whose baby was miraculously born and is well. Amid endless horror, a sign of hope. If Western countries were genuine democracies consistent with the values they preach, they would have imposed a strict embargo on Israel months ago to stop the genocide and consign Netanyahu and his fanatic government to the sewers of history where they belong. Instead, nothing. From government halls, only empty words and clichés, while tens of thousands of innocent and defenseless human beings are exterminated as if they were animals. A shame that will forever mark not only the dire future of Israel but also these Western ruling classes who, through their hypocritical inertia, have effectively become accomplices to the genocide.
However, not all evil brings harm. They don’t realize that Netanyahu’s actions are a personal and collective suicide, and by allowing him to proceed, they contribute to the end of Israel. In a few days, Netanyahu will even speak before the American Congress in Washington. Truly unbelievable. Instead of being arrested for war crimes, he is granted the privilege of speaking before the U.S. parliament, solely because the pro-Israel lobby has been buying Western politics and media with dollars for decades. Biden deserves to be politically entombed more for this than for his advancing dementia. An oceanic protest and outrage demonstration is expected on the streets of Washington, and this is the real change that will alter history.
The criminal Israeli colonial project has succeeded for years in manipulating not only the powerful but also Western public opinion, portraying themselves as victims rather than perpetrators. But the wind has changed. The brutality of the genocide in Gaza, new technologies, and increased awareness have opened the world’s eyes, and in the future, there will be no place for such shames. Neither in Gaza nor in Washington nor, hopefully, in the old and hypocritical Europe, which unsurprisingly relies on a Pontius Pilate like Ursula von der Leyen. Meanwhile, Tel Aviv is being hit by drones from Yemen, and Galilee is ablaze while the counter-exodus of Jews from a once-holy land turned cursed continues. For them, the Israeli project has already failed, both morally and practically.
But the major news of the moment is the turning point in the Palestinian liberation struggle. The UN Tribunal has decreed what all free and honest people have known for decades: the Israeli project is an illegal and violent annexation of lands and resources that belong to the Palestinians. A historic ruling that strikes at the heart of Zionist hypocrisy and ridicules biblical ravings of the past. Occupation, apartheid, human rights violations are not extremist words but legally proven realities by the principal international court. Another blow to Netanyahu and his accomplices, further shame for the Biden administration that hosts him instead of arresting him. But words are no longer needed, the facts of recent months speak for themselves. The dam of mass manipulation has burst, international institutions have moved, and it is only a matter of time before those responsible for yet another genocide are held accountable.
Meanwhile, the population in Gaza is at the breaking point, and the bombings continue in media silence. Last night, a young pregnant woman was killed, but her baby was miraculously born and is well. Amid endless horror, a sign of hope.
