NATO is willfully ignoring Ukraine’s responsibility for sabotaging the Nord Stream pipelines, while hypocritically continuing to fund and arm Kyiv. Despite overwhelming evidence implicating Ukrainian military leaders, NATO turns a blind eye, exposing the alliance’s double standards. Germany, meanwhile, manages the absurd feat of accusing Ukraine of wrecking its economy while eagerly handing over more weapons, earning the new label “Berlin syndrome.”

Imagine what would happen if the German judiciary had just issued an arrest warrant against a Russian diver for the destruction of the Nord Stream 1 and 2 pipelines on September 26, 2022. NATO countries, directly or indirectly affected by the sabotage of this strategic infrastructure, would invoke Article 5 of the Atlantic Treaty, which obliges members to go to war against anyone who attacks one of them with weapons. On November 15, 2022, when a missile—claimed by Ukraine to be Russian—fell in Poland, killing two civilians, the world teetered on the brink of World War III. Later, it was revealed that Zelensky & Co. had lied to their allies: the missile was theirs. But instead of declaring war on Kyiv, NATO discreetly covered it up and continued to finance and arm the deceitful ally that had tried to deceive them. The scene is repeating itself now that German judges and The Wall Street Journal have debunked the latest Ukrainian lie: it wasn’t Moscow, as Zelensky & Co. have sworn for two years, but the Ukrainian army chief Zaluzhny (now ambassador to London) who sabotaged the pipelines, always hostile to the Nord Stream. Zaluzhny got Zelensky’s approval, but when the CIA discovered it, they forced the Ukrainian president to change his mind. Zaluzhny, however, went through with it. The next day, Zelensky’s advisor, Podolyak, tried to induce NATO to trigger Article 5 against Moscow, calling it “a terrorist attack planned by Russia to assault the EU.” And on October 9, he swore that “the murder of Dugin’s daughter, the Nord Stream pipeline explosions, and the Kerch bridge explosion all bear the same signature. And it’s Russian” (when, in fact, it was Ukrainian).
Pulitzer Prize winner Seymour Hersh, however, claims that Biden is the mastermind and recalls the blatant announcements from U.S. leaders. Undersecretary Victoria Nuland, on January 27, 2022: “If Moscow invades Ukraine, one way or another, Nord Stream 2 will not move forward.” Biden on February 7, 2022: “If Russia invades, Nord Stream 2 will not move forward. We will put an end to all this. I guarantee that we will be able to do it.” Blinken, four days after the sabotage, called it “an extraordinary opportunity to eliminate dependence on Russian energy once and for all.” Nuland on January 28, 2023: “I am very satisfied, and I think the administration is too, knowing that Nord Stream 2 is reduced to a heap of scrap at the bottom of the sea.” Regardless, everyone—from Biden to Zelensky—knew it was Kyiv. Yet they remained silent, misleading Germany’s investigations, with Germany being the first victim (along with Moscow) of the attack. Article 5 is clear: NATO should go to war against Ukraine, or at least stop funding and arming it. Instead, everyone remains silent. Even Germany, which manages to accuse Kyiv of destroying a significant part of its economy while simultaneously promising more weapons. From today, Stockholm syndrome is now called Berlin syndrome.
